LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Women's basketball dropped a tough back-and-forth contest with OUAZ 67-65 on November, 13 after a Spirit game winner with under two seconds to go silenced the Tiger faithful.

With the game tied at 65 and 37 seconds to go, the Tigers held possession looking to take the lead. After a missed shot, the Spirit got the ball to the frontcourt and called timeout with 4.1 to go.

The Spirit found open space along the baseline and hit the eventual game winner.

OUAZ, who's yet to lose on the young season, faced its toughest test against the Tigers. Oxy held the games biggest lead – eight – midway through the third quarter, but the Spirit battled back to take a two-point lead heading into the fourth.

Dara Tokeshi's impressive showing on both sides of the ball kept the Tigers out in front through most of the fourth. She finished with 27 points, three shy of her career high, on 44% shooting, going 9-of-10 from the free throw line. More impressively, the junior guard grabbed eight steals.

Tokeshi's teammate in the backcourt,
Dominique Cabading, was also all over the floor nabbing seven steals. The two combined for 15 of the Tigers 19 steals.

Paige Yasukochi added a scoring boost with 13 points on 5-of-12 shooting and one of the Tigers three triples.
Micah Elegores had a nice game off the bench with six points and two assists.

The Tigers were bullied on the glass, getting out rebounded 59-25, and surrendered 22 offensive boards.

In an aggressive battle, the teams combined to commit 47 fouls and shoot 53 free throws.

With the loss, the Tigers are now 1-1 on the season. They'll look to bounce back on Friday, November 15 with a non-conference game against Nobel University. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. at Rush Gym.
