LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Men's basketball is back in action Friday night to take on Cal Miramar, a tune up before a Division III contest with SUNY Oneonta on December 19.

It's the Tigers' second meeting with the Fighting Falcons in the 2024-25 season. The last time these two met, Oxy picked up the victory, 101-69.

MATCH OUTLOOK
Four Tigers were in double-figures in the teams' last meeting. Nicky Clotfelter, who's scored 24 or more points in each of the Tigers' last three games, picked up 24 on 7-of-9 shooting. Nasir Luna, Ethan Hanning and Jacob Hamermesh each tallied above ten.

Luna, a first year from Los Angeles, is coming off a career-high 22 against Whittier on December 4. His 14.3 points per game is second on the team.

THE FIRING FROSH
Luna and Alex McCleery Brown have been two of the Tigers' most consistent players in 2024, with Luna's offensive output placing 11th in SCIAC. McCleery Brown has been (Mc)cleaning up the glass at a 6.5 rebound per game clip.

Luna's point total is the highest of all freshmen in the SCIAC and McCleery Brown is 12th in the conference in rebounds – McCleery Brown is also one of five Tigers to score 10 or more points per game through the first five contests of the season.

SEASON AT A GLANCE
The Tigers are 3-2 heading into the contest, coming off of a narrow 84-79 loss to Whittier Dec. 4.

Clotfelter led the Tigers with 28, including 23 in the second half. The Tigers struggled to score in the first half, totaling only 30 in the first 20 minutes. While the offense picked up in the second, so did the Poets, resulting in a 49-49 frame.

After holding Caltech to an impressive 54 points of offense in the Division III opener, the Tigers have allowed 89.5 points across their two other DIII matchups. They turned the ball over combined nine times more than their opponents in those losses.
