Los Angeles, CA — The Occidental Tigers men's basketball team celebrated the accomplishments of senior student-athlete Aiden Williams on Tuesday night before their game with Caltech.
Williams scored 5 of the Tigers' first 8 points as they took an early 8-3 lead over the Beavers. Oxy was up by 12 points after Jacob Koretz knocked down a 3-pointer with 13 minutes left in the 1st half.
The Tigers were playing strong defense and making the right passes on offense to find open teammates, leading to a lead as big as 25 points with a minute left in the 1st half. Williams would go off in the 2nd half of the game, scoring 10 of the Tigers' first 13 points in the half, including two 3-pointers.
Williams would make five 3-pointers in the 2nd half alone and total 7 in the game, scoring 32 points and leading Oxy to the Senior Day win over Caltech by a score of 93-62. The Tigers finished the season with a 15-9 overall record and a 8-8 conference record.
In his time at Oxy, Williams was a sharpshooter from 3-point range, shooting 43.2% from deep on 463 3PA, scoring 788 points in his Tiger career. Williams started in 58 games for Oxy during his career and totaled 1928 minutes played.
