Clermont, FL— Oxy softball finished up their Florida trip in Game 2 of a doubleheader against the Monmouth College Fighting Scots. 

Ariel Lashinksy pitched a solid first 2 innings for Oxy allowing only one runner to reach base and no runs to score. The Scots would break through in the 3rd inning and score 6 runs to take a 6-0 lead. 

Oxy immediately responded with 4 runs of their own. Sydney Crespo, Phylicia Pedrosa, and Ava Quezada led off the inning with three straight singles to load the bases. Alysha Wagner followed by doubling to left center to drive in 2 runs, and Sophia Siu and Isabella Harding would each hit a sac fly to score 2 more runs to make it 6-4. 

In the bottom of the 4th inning, Oxy strung some hits together and capitalized on a few errors to score 4 more runs and take a 8-6 lead. The Tigers put together a two-out rally in the 5th inning and scored 4 more runs, highlighted by a 2 RBI single from Sophia Siu. 

Oxy added on 2 more runs in the 6th inning, highlighted by an Ava Quezada RBI single. Zada Day-Adams pitched 3 scoreless innings of relief and struck out 5 batters to close the game out for the Tigers. 

With the win, Oxy finished up their trip to Florida with a 4-4 record, including some impressive wins in which the offense was on fire and pitching was lights out. The Tigers will look to roll into conference play when they take on the California Lutheran University Regals in Thousand Oaks on March 22nd at 3pm.
