Los Angeles, CA – The Occidental softball team opened their series against the University of La Verne at Oxy on Friday, April 5. In a high-scoring affair that set the tone for the three-game series, both teams showcased their offensive prowess from the outset.
Despite an early lead by La Verne, Oxy staged a comeback, narrowing the deficit with timely hits and strategic baserunning. Philycia Pedrosa and Sydney Crespo delivered clutch hits to fuel the Tigers' offensive surge, while Alysha Wagner and Evelyn Lorch played pivotal roles in driving in crucial runs. Despite a resilient effort by the Tigers, the Leopards ultimately claimed the first game with a final score of 10-7.
