LOS ANGELES — Occidental College secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Caltech on Wednesday at W.C. Patterson Field. The home team dominated with 20 shots, including nine on target. The Occidental goalkeeper posted a shutout with one save on three Caltech shots.
The first half began with the Occidental asserting early pressure, generating multiple scoring opportunities.
Alessia Sacchi took two initial shots, with one requiring a save from Caltech's goalkeeper, Haleigh Gardner. The team maintained offensive momentum through a series of corner kicks, culminating in a goal by
Mia Steadman in the 34th minute, assisted by

The defense held firm as the half progressed, preventing Caltech from mounting any significant offensive threats. Despite several offside calls, the team maintained control and concluded the first half leading 1-0.

Occidental improved to 4-1-2 overall and 3-0-1 in conference play following the victory. Caltech fell to 1-4-1 overall and 1-3-0 in conference competition.
