ORANGE, Calif. — Occidental secured a decisive 4-1 victory over Chapman on Wednesday at Wilson Field. Occidental took control with two first-half goals and maintained their lead with another two in the second half. The team's defense limited Chapman to a single goal, while offensive prowess was highlighted by Occidental's seven shots on goal.
The match commenced with Occidental taking early initiative, as 
Vicente Navarro and 
Devin Bening both attempted shots within the first four minutes. This offensive pressure set the tone for the visiting team's strategy. 
Sammy Gramlich maintained a strong presence in goal, notably saving a shot from Dylan Paine in the 14th minute, preserving a clean sheet early on.
Aiden Aley broke the deadlock in the 16th minute by scoring the opening goal, propelling Occidental into the lead. The team continued to push forward, and despite a yellow card given to 
Torben Kroeger, the Tigers managed to double the advantage before the half. Kroeger redeemed himself by netting a goal in the 41st minute. As the period concluded, the Tigers held a 2-0 lead over the Panthers.
The second half commenced with the Tigers quickly extending their lead, as 
Kent Ortiz found the net with assistance from Bening in the 47th minute. Just three minutes later, Bening capitalized on a pass from 
Cooper Gersch to add another goal, bringing the score to 4-0 in favor of the Tigers.
Chapman responded with a penalty kick goal by Dylan Paine at the 70th minute, narrowing the gap. Despite Chapman's efforts, including multiple saved attempts by Gramlich, the Tigers maintained a strong defensive stance. The period concluded with the Tigers leading 4-1, securing a decisive victory.
