Occidental's offense took control with 17 shots, including 12 on target, while their defense, led by the goalkeeper with five saves, secured a shutout. The victory was highlighted by Occidental scoring in each half, maintaining pressure on Whittier throughout the match. Whittier managed 13 shots but failed to convert any into goals.
The first half began with both teams competing for control, but Occidental gained momentum in the 19th minute when
