CLAREMONT, Calif. — Occidental fell to Pomona-Pitzer 13-6 in a conference matchup at Haldeman Pool on Saturday night. Pomona-Pitzer secured the victory with a strong fourth quarter, outscoring Occidental 4-2 in the final frame.
Occidental began the match with an early goal by
Atticus Wahab-Holles. However, Pomona-Pitzer responded decisively, scoring four unanswered goals, including two from assists by Miles Chiang, to lead 4-1 by the end of the first quarter.
Max Stone tried to spark a comeback for the team with goals in the second quarter, but Pomona-Pitzer maintained their lead with contributions from Jaden Winters and Chase Barman, ending the half 6-3. The third quarter saw Pomona-Pitzer extend their control with Winters scoring twice, widening the gap to 9-4. In the final quarter, they continued their offensive momentum, securing a 13-6 victory, with Conrad Hugar closing the scoring. Pomona-Pitzer outshot their opponents, with a total of 34 shots to 33, and capitalized on five power-play opportunities.
Max Stone led the offensive efforts with three goals on four shots.
Atticus Wahab-Holles converted both of his shot attempts, adding two goals to the team's tally.
Jake Eulenhoefer contributed with a goal and two assists. In goal,
