CLAREMONT, Calif. – Women's soccer fell to the No. 1 seed Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens on Wednesday, November 5, 3-0 in the SCIAC semifinal.
The Tigers opened the game with a golden opportunity to tack on the game's first score.
Alessia Sacchi fired a shot from outside of the box, just over the top post. That was the best look the Tigers had in the first half.
Pomona-Pitzer controlled the game through the whole first half, capitalizing on Tiger mistakes to counter with three scores. The Sagehen offense looked poised and worked quickly, building an insurmountable lead through the first 45.
In the second half, the Tigers put up a few solid attempts, including four corners and a
Sophia Weigt free kick, but came up empty.
The Tigers' season ends at 8-7-2 with the squad's first win in the SCIAC tournament since 2018.
