LOS ANGELES — Oxy women's volleyball picked up a huge win on the night they celebrated the achievements of their seniors

Eliana Channell and
Elizabeth Sonza. Occidental College (5-19, 3-13 SCIAC) defeated the University of Redlands (14-10, 8-8 SCIAC) in a four-set match on Saturday at Rush Gymnasium, winning 25-18, 25-17, 29-31, 26-24. The Tigers recorded 13 service aces, contributing significantly to their victory.
The match opened with Occidental establishing early momentum, beginning with a block by
Ariana Carranza that set the tone.
Eliana Channell followed up with a kill, assisted by
Lila Payne, to extend the lead. After the Bulldogs briefly tied the score,
Jasmine Shum's kill helped the Tigers regain control.
Occidental maintained their edge with a series of well-coordinated plays, highlighted by Carranza's contributions at the net, which included multiple kills.
Sloane Shoop and
Anna Curtis-Revelle teamed up for a block, adding to the home team's scoring drive.
As the set progressed, the Tigers continued to capitalize on Redlands' errors while effectively executing their own attacks.
