LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Men's basketball played host to the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens in the last game of the 2024-25 season.
The Tigers got off to a strong start, leading 14-5 as Micah Breaux cashed in a 3-pointer with about 5 minutes off of the clock in the 1st half. The Sagehens would battle back with a 10-0 scoring run to take a 1-point lead and the game would remain close for the rest of the half.
Pomona-Pitzer would lead 40-39 heading into halftime as they closed the half making a pair of free throws. The Sagehens would grab a 9 point lead early on in the 2nd half but the Tigers were finding ways to make timely baskets to not allow the lead to get into double digits.
With less than 13 minutes left in the game, Micah Breaux took over offensively for the Tigers, going on a 7-0 run all on his own which included an and-1 opportunity on a layup that had the Rush Gym crowd going crazy.
Oxy only trailed 58-57 after Breaux's run, and the game remained close as the two teams were each finding ways to score. With 5 minutes left in the game, Pomona-Pitzer went on a run to stretch the lead out to 9 points.
The Tigers were unable to make one last run at the lead and would end up falling to the Sagehens by a score of 85-71.

Micah Breaux and Nasir Luna led the way offensively in this game with 17 points each. Alex McCleery had 16 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.
Henry Wilson was a force on the glass in this game with 13 rebounds to go along with 11 points. Jacob Hamermesh has 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 points.
Oxy finished the year with a 9-16 overall record, going 7-9 at home in Rush Gym.
