LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Men's golf competed at the Sonoma State Invite from Monday March 24 through Tuesday, March 25. The Tigers placed ninth out of 15 teams competing. Teams played two rounds, 36 holes, on Monday then rounded out the tournament with the final round on Tuesday.

Adam Elshamy led all Tigers, tying for 15
th in a field of 86 golfers. Elshamy set a program record for most birdies in a day, notching 10 across the opening two rounds on Monday. His first time through the course, Elshamy birdied holes one, two, 11 and 17. He tallied six the second time through – one, three, five, eight, 13 and 15.

His stellar play saw him skyrocket to the third spot on the leaderboard after shooting a one-under 71 in each round. He finished day two with an eight-over 80 to bring his final tally to 222.

Will Sires and
Miles Eastman finished around the middle of the pack in 41
st and 43
rd respectively. They each shot 76's to finish the tournament, putting Sires 18-over and Eastman 19-over.

Amaan Kanji and
Max Malakoff rounded out the Tigers lineup in 65
th and 75
th.

The Tigers competed in a field of mostly NCAA Division II institutions, beating Dominican, Vanguard, CSU Dominguez Hills and Westmont. The Tigers beat the only other DIII institution in attendance, Chapman, by 14 strokes.

Men's golf is back in action with a tune up against St. Olaf April 3 before SCIAC #2 April 5-6 at El Dorado Golf Club in Long Beach.
