LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Women's lacrosse dropped a close one at home, 15-11 to Oberlin on Thursday, March 27.
Â
The Tigers came out of the gates hot, scoring the game's first two goals. 25 seconds into the game,
Olivia Okamoto tallied her first of two goals on the night. Oberlin did a nice job all night keeping Okamoto and
Maeve Moylan out of the box score after the duo combined for 12 goals on Monday.
Â
Less than a minute later,
Gabriella Acker scored her first of two goals. That set the tone for the majority of the first half where Oxy led most of the way.
Â
The Tigers closed the second quarter with a 3-1 run.
Emma Cho picked up two of her team-high four goals in that span. Okamoto added her final score of the game.
Â
It was all Oberlin in the second half as the Yeowomen outscored the Tigers 9-3. Their constant defensive pressure all night forced 23 Tiger turnovers – their second-highest total in a game this season. Oxy only completed 16 of 23 clears.
Â
The Tigers are back in action on Saturday, April 5 at Claremont-M-S. It will be the 7-4 Tigers' second meeting with the Athenas.
