LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Women's water polo hosted the Santa Clara University Broncos on Sunday afternoon in De Mandel Aquatics Center.
Oxy scored the first goal of the game on a shot from Koko Butcher, putting the Tigers up 1-0. The Broncos scored the next two goals of the game, but Oxy drew a 5-meter penalty and Butcher scored on the shot to tie the game at 2.
Ruby Vogel would score on a nice lob shot to give Oxy a 3-2 lead in the 1st period. Santa Clara would go on a scoring run after that and would take a 13-3 lead into halftime.
Oxy would not be able to rally back in this one but Norah Ruvalcaba scored a nice goal in the 3rd period, and Mia Colabianchi, Emma Merrill, and Tori Carlson would each score a goal in the 4th period.
The Broncos won this one by a score of 21-7. The Tigers will be back in action to resume SCIAC play on Wednesday, April 2nd with a 4:00pm start away at La Verne.
