LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Oxy baseball fell to the University of Redlands Bulldogs in the first of a three game set on Friday afternoon.
The Bulldogs got out to an early lead with a two-run home run in the 1st inning, and would add on runs in the 3rd, 7th and 9th innings.
Redlands opted to go to the bullpen in the 4th inning and would end up totaling 7 different pitchers in the game, which seemed to keep the Tiger offense out of rhythm.
The Tigers would scatter six hits throughout the game but did not put together a rally to push a run across.
Both Thomas Munch and Jeffery Cambra were 2 for 4 at the plate, and Riley Holcomb threw 6.2 innings in the game while striking out two batters.
Oxy will travel down to Redlands tomorrow morning for a Saturday doubleheader to conclude the series with games at 11:00am and 2:30pm.
