LOS ANGELES, Calif. –
Zada Day-Adams was named SCIAC Pitcher of the Week on Mondau, April 14, softball's first SCIAC weekly selection of the season.
Â
Day-Adams picked up two wins in the circle over the weekend, helping the Tigers win their first SCIAC series since the conference adopted three-game sets in 2020. Looking further, the Tigers hadn't won a series in nearly seven years, beating Redlands in three-of-four during the 2018 campaign when conference teams played doubleheaders twice a season.
Â
She went seven scoreless innings across two appearances, allowing only two hits, picking up six strikeouts. Her two no-hit innings in Friday's game kept the score tied heading into the bottom of the seventh where Oxy picked up a walk-off single. On Saturday, Day-Adams went five shut-out innings in an 8-0 run-rule win.
Â
Day-Adams and the Tigers are back in action next weekend with a three-game set against Whittier before ending the season with Pomona-Pitzer.
