The Sagehens took an early lead with a goal in the first half and secured the win with another in the second half. The Tigers responded with a goal in the second half but were unable to find the equalizer. The match saw Pomona-Pitzer's defense hold strong, with their goalkeeper making three crucial saves.

The first half began with a defensive stand from Occidental, as goalkeeper Joseph Bassett made a crucial save against Pomona-Pitzer's Guy Fuchs in the 9th minute to maintain the scoreline.
