REDLANDS, Calif. — Redlands defeated Occidental College 15-10 at the Thompson Aquatic Center on Wednesday. The Bulldogs capitalized on five penalty shots, contributing significantly to their victory. Occidental kept the match competitive, scoring four goals in the third quarter, but ultimately couldn't overcome Redlands' consistent performance, particularly in the final quarter where they netted five goals.
Redlands started strong against Occidental with Adam Lambert scoring in the first quarter, followed by two consecutive penalty goals from Tim Jensen, giving the Bulldogs a 3-1 lead. Occidental's
Danny Miller netted early, but Redlands extended their lead with a goal from Tanner Stagner, closing the first quarter 4-1. In the second quarter, Occidental's
Lars Schubert scored, but Redlands maintained control with goals from Oliver Child and Oliver Finley, resulting in a halftime score of 6-4 in favor of the Bulldogs. Occidental came back in the third quarter, highlighted by
Ocean Pogorel scoring twice, narrowing the margin to 9-8. In the final quarter, Redlands pulled away with a series of rapid goals by Brody Nielsen and Brady Bailey, securing a 15-10 victory. Redlands capitalized on five penalty opportunities overall, while both teams netted three power-play goals each.
Ocean Pogorel led the offensive effort with two goals on three attempts for Occidental. Schubert was perfect with his shots, converting both of his attempts into goals.
Quin Concannon matched his teammates' scoring success, also netting two goals from two shots. In the net,
