REDLANDS, Calif. – Occidental Swimming & Diving traveled to Redlands to open the season at the Bulldog Pentathlon on Saturday, October 10.
 
At the pentathlon, each swimmer competes in the five main swimming events – butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, medley and freestyle. All events were swum at 100 yards.
 
There were a pair of Tigers who finished in the top 10 of some events, while several Oxy swimmers posted top 30 times in a field of 120+ swimmers.
 
Reid Lalli and Elle Howson headlined the day. Lalli had the Tigers top finish in the 100 fly. He swam his best event in 53.35. Howson earned ninth in the 100 breaststroke, clocking in at 1:11.53.
 
The Tigers are back in action November 7 at home to take on CMS and Redlands.
