2013: Second Team All-SCIAC... Starting defensive back and key special teams player for the Tigers ... had an interception and 10 tackles in Oxy's season opener at Pacific (Ore.) ... registered five tackles vs. Redlands on Oct. 5 ... returned an interception for a touchdown in a 38-30 win at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Oct. 12) while adding 10 tackles ... registered 14 total tackles vs. Chapman on Oct. 19 ... notched 10 total tackles in a 44-34 win over Cal Lutheran on Oct. 26... had four tackles at Whittier on Nov. 9 ... recorded 14 total tackles and forced a fumble in a 49-21 win over La Verne on Nov. 16.
2012: Led Oxy with 8 tackles and added a pass break-up against Pacific in his first game played as a defensive back for Oxy ... registered 9 tackes and three tackles for loss against Menlo ... returned 4 kickoffs for 97 yards and added 6 tackles on defense at Redlands ... returned 2 kickoffs for 108 yards (Long: 80) and added 5 tackles on defense vs. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Oct. 6) ... had seven kickoff returns for 119 yards and notched five tackles on defense at Cal Lutheran (Oct. 20) ... notched seven tackles, a pass breakup, and a blocked kick on defense and recorded 190 kick return yards vs. Whittier (Nov. 3).
2011: As a freshman, Mawhinney played in 7 of 9 games for the Tigers. He made 14 rushing attempts for 59 yards, averaging 4.2 yards per carry. He also scored a touchdown and averaged 8.4 yards per game. Recieving, he caught 2 passes for total of 24 yards. Had one kick return for 45 yards
High School: Attended Poudre High School. In football, Mawhinney made first team all conference... named Front Range Conference offensive player of the year... holds the state record of 59 carries in a game... All State...named team MVP... honored with two-time academic all state. In lacrosse, he was awarded Academic all american, 2 time all state, 3 time all conference,and 2 time academic all state.
