Jackson Frons was elevated to Associate Head Coach of the men's tennis program in July 2025.
He joined the Occidental tennis program as an Assistant for the 2024-2025 season, a year in which the Tigers achieved a national ranking of 37th in Division III and two players earned Second Team All-SCIAC honors. In Frons's new role, he will oversee all on-court aspects of Oxy's men's tennis team.
Prior to Occidental, Frons coached in New York and California, including stints at the Braemar Country Club, where he worked in the High Performance Junior Program, and at Le Moyne College, where he was the Volunteer Assistant Coach for the Men's Tennis Team in the 2021 season.
Frons played college tennis for Middlebury College (2016), where he graduated with a degree in English and American Literature, and recorded a career singles record of 51-21. In the Fall of 2014, he reached 44th in the ITA National Singles Rankings for Division III. That spring, Frons was a key member of a Panther squad that won a NESCAC title, reached the finals of the NCAA tournament, and finished the season ranked second in the nation.
In addition to coaching tennis, Frons has been a visiting faculty member in the Creative Writing Department at his Alma Mater and served as a Graduate Writing Instructor at Syracuse University, where he earned a Masters of Fine Art in Fiction (2021). His reporting appears regularly in OPEN Tennis Magazine.
