At Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cortinas started 94 games in her 2 years of play and finished with a .270 avg, a .478 SLG% and hit 14 home runs during her time in Carson. While playing 3rd base she held a .902 FLD% for the Toros.

Prior to joining the Toros, Cortinas appeared in 48 games with 41 starts for Utah Valley University where she notched with 17 RBI and four home runs for the Wolverines.

On the coaching side, Cortinas coached high school ball before accepting a coaching position at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in 2017. In Claremont, Cortinas helped coach the team to multiple record setting seasons, bringing the Sagehens back to postseason play all 3 years prior to COVID-19. Primarily, Cortinas worked with the defense and was the recruiting coordinator for the program. 

Cortinas graduated from Cal State Dominguez Hills with a Bachelors of Arts in Health Science, Healthcare Management in 2016. She also received her Masters of Arts in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University, Irvine in 2020.
