Briefly: Anna Kurnizki is enteringher second season with Occidental volleyball. Lastseason Anna played libero and opposite before moving to setter forthe final match of the season, a 3-0 sweep of Claremont MuddScripps. Also competes on the track and field team here atOxy.
High School: She came to Oxy after four yearsof volleyball at Chico High School in Chico, California. Annaplayed four seasons starting setter until her last season senioryear, when she played right-side hitter. She was moved up to juniorvarsity her freshman year and voted All-League her senior year.
Other: Anna also played one year of clubvolleyball on the top "black" team. She also plays doubles with hersister Carolyn; the two recently won a grass doubles tournament inSacramento.
Personal: Anna Kurnizki was born September18th, 1990 in San Francisco, to parents Bill and Kim Kurnizki. Shehas an older brother, Zander, who plays volleyball at UC Merced,and a younger sister Carolyn, who plays at Chico High School. Annais majoring in sociology and minoring inkinesiology.
