Justin Lee, also known as "JLee", joined Oxy athletics during onset of the 2026-27 academic year as an Athletics Communications Assistant after graduating from Chapman University and working as a freelance Play by Play announcer and Public Address Announcer in the sports broadcast industry.
Main duties are overseeing Oxy Athletics broadcasts for all athletic events streamed on FloSports and assisting Joe Perrino with Gameday Operations.Â
At Chapman University, Justin earned his Bachelor's of Science in Applied Human Physiology and a minor in Psychology with Cum Laude honors. While at Chapman University, he discovered his passion and drive for sports broadcasting with the Chapman Sports Broadcast Network. A club that features an entirely student run production of all the main athletic events at Chapman University. Justin was primarily an on-camera talent while also learning other positions such as Producer, Director, Replay Op, Stage Managing, etc. Pivoting his career after college to work in the sports broadcast industry. He also served as a student athletics assistant for Chapman University assisting in broadcast duties with the Sports Information Director and staff. Since graduating college, he has worked in multiple environments and continues to freelance in the sports broadcasting industry along with his duties at Oxy.Â
Before attending Chapman University, he earned his Associates degree in Kinesiology at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo while also participating in collegiate Swimming in the IM short distance events and backstroke. He was part of the 2020-21 Swim and Dive team that clinched the Orange Empire Conference title. Including also playing with the football program as a backup punter and placekicker from 2019-2021.Â
In his free time also participates in recreational sports such as flag football and outdoor grass volleyball. Included playing professional wiffleball in the summer season of Big League Wiffleball.
