RJ Velasco joined the Occidental Women's Volleyball program in July 2026.
For the past three seasons, Velasco has served as a coach at Arcadia Foothill Volleyball Club. She has coached various girls U13-U15s teams as well as boys U17s. Velasco also coached at her alma mater Thurgood Marshall Secondary School, serving as the Head Varsity Coach for the boys program and assisting for the girls program.
Her coaching philosophy centers around strong team culture, discipline and consistency at practice and empowering athletes to be the best version of themselves on and off the court.
Velasco resides in Glendale.
