CLAREMONT, Calif. (Oct. 13, 2007) –
Occidental soccer could not continue its win streak today as they
were shutout 2-0 by the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens in SCIAC play.
While the Tigers took 12 shots, they came up
empty as their counterparts scored a pair on 14 attempts.
Pomona-Pitzer's Andrew Stamm was responsible for both
Sagehens goals.
Oxy goal keeper blocked four of those shots
and PP's goalie, Charlie Balter, made six saves.
In the game the Sagehens took 11 corner kicks
to the Tigers' two.
Occidental drops to 5-7-1, 4-5-1 in
SCIAC play.
The Tigers will be back in action Wednesday
when they host the University of Redlands Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on
the Lower Soccer Field.
