LOS
ANGELES, Calif. (Oct. 15, 2008) – The sour taste from a 1-0
loss to the Leopards earlier this season vanished today on the
Lower Soccer Field as Occidental College defeated the University of
La Verne 2-0 on their home turf in Southern California
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action.
After a scoreless first half in which the
Leopards outshot the Tigers 14-12 and earned five corner kick
opportunities to Oxy's one both teams came out firing in the
second half.
Occidental got on the board in the
61st minute thanks to the first goal of the season
for Aaron Mun,
marking the ultimate
winning goal. Mun got an assist from
Rob Riccardi, who led all Tigers with six shots (three
on goal), and scored on the only shot he took
today.
Seventeen minutes later

season when he found the back of the net on a pass from
freshman James
Kornfield.
Andrew Larkin
guarded the goal for all
90 minutes, recording 13 saves.
For
