ORANGE, Calif. (Oct. 18, 2008)
– Termaine Tucker led the
Occidental offense against Caltech as he was responsible for two
goals and an assist in the Tigers' 3-0 SCIAC victory on the
road today.
In the 12th minute Tucker took a
straight shot on goal to put the Tigers up 1-0, marking the
ultimate winning goal. Neither team would add to the score before
the half.
Just 10 minutes into the final half of action
Tucker found an open Fran Taylor who sent the ball
into the back of the net with his team-leading tenth goal of the
season to give Oxy a two-goal lead.
A minute later Tucker again scored, adding
insurance in the victory.
Andrew Larkin made four saves
in front of the cage while his counterpart, Marcus Lucas, blocked
nine Oxy shots.
The Tigers improve to 6-5-2 overall, 6-3-1 in
SCIAC play.
Occidental will be back out on the field on
Wednesday when they travel to Claremont to take on Pomona-Pitzer
Colleges at 4:00 p.m. in what should be a battle. Earlier this
season Oxy defeated PP 3-2 at home.
