Tigers fall against first place Bulldogs

REDLANDS, Calif. (Oct. 14, 2009) – The Tigers of Occidental College traveled to the University of Redlands today to face the Bulldogs for their second match up this year in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Similar to their first game against the Bulldogs, the Tigers put up a fight, but lost by a score of 2-0.

In a defensive game, Tigers keeper Robin Feldman made seven saves throughout the entire match on the Bulldogs' 16 shots.

Mid-fielder Marci Kang led the offense, taking four shots of her own throughout the game, adding to the seven others taken by the rest of the Occidental team. With only a pair of shots on goal, Kang and Season Falkler-Rodriguez combined for the two chances.

Despite the loss, both teams seemed evenly matched with five fouls apiece throughout the game. While Occidental falls to 6-5 overall, 4-4 in SCIAC play, clinging to the fourth spot in the league standings, UR improves to 8-4 and remains atop the SCIAC standings with a 7-1 mark entering the home stretch.

The Tigers travel to Cal Lutheran this Saturday, Oct. 17 to face the Regals at 11:00 a.m. for their ninth SCIAC match of the season.
