CLAREMONT —The Occidental College women's water polo team picked up two more wins at the Claremont Convergence tournament on Saturday, extending the longest winning streak in program history to 13 games.
The Tigers (14-2), currently ranked No. 1 in the Collegiate Water Polo Division III women's water polo poll, beat Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 11-7 and Macalester 19-6, making it 4-0 at the tournament this weekend and three consecutive weekends that Oxy's been perfect at a non-conference tournament.
Oxy went 4-0 at both the Chapman Classic on Feb. 25-26 and the Cal Lutheran Posada Royale Invitational on March 3-4.
GAME 1: Occidental 11, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 7

The two teams traded goals over the next two minutes, and CMS added one more score in the final 30 seconds of the first quarter, taking a 4-2 lead at the end of the period.
Oxy cut the lead to one on a 6-on-5 goal from senior Corrine Casey (Lodi), but CMS responded with a goal on their very next possession to go up 5-3 at the half.
The Tigers defense took over in the second half as the team held CMS to just two goals in through the remainder of the game, while picking up eight of their own at the other end of the pool.
Oxy scored the first two goals of the third quarter, before the Athenas re-took the lead with 5 minutes to play in the third quarter. It would be the final lead of the game for CMS, as Oxy would go on a 6-0 run to pull away for the win.
