LA VERNE — Senior Marcus Brandford headed in his fifth goal of the season. But the Occidental men's soccer team fell 3-1 at La Verne on Wednesday night.

Oxy is now 2-8 overall and 1-6 in SCIAC play. La Verne improved to 5-3 overall and 3-3 in SCIAC.

Duvoisin found Brandford in the 5th minute for the game's first goal. Andrew Greenen got the Leopards back to even in the 12th minute, Saul Uribe gave them the lead in the 15th minute and then Boye Christiansen added an insurance goal in the 72nd.

It was Duvoisin's second assist of the season.

Oxy plays its next two games at home. The Tigers have their first game of the season on the Upper Field against Chapman on Saturday and then they host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps underneath the lights at Jack Kemp Stadium on Monday.
