Khil Scores Again in a 2-1 Loss at Chapman

Box Score

ORANGEJulie Khil just keeps on scoring.

But the standout Occidental freshman forward's first-half goal wasn't enough for the Oxy women's soccer team in a 2-1 loss at Chapman on Wednesday.

The Tigers fall to 3-4-1 overall and 2-3 in SCIAC play. Chapman improves to 6-4 overall and 3-2 in SCIAC.

Khil evened the match with her fourth goal of the season in the 35th minute, tying her with Elissa Minamishin for the team lead in goals.

Rebecca Bortz had Chapman's first goal in the 26th minute and Katie Bell scored the game-winner in the 40th.

Oxy has had a string of close defeats in the past two weeks. The Tigers lost in double overtime to Cal Lutheran and La Verne, and haven't lost by more than one goal or allowed more than two goals in a game all year.

Oxy returns to action on Saturday at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at 6 p.m.
