REDLANDSTori Larson (Denver, Colo.) scored two of her game-high five goals to cut Redlands' lead to one on two different occasions in the second half.

But the first-place Bulldogs (13-4, 9-1 SCIAC) responded each time, beating the Tigers (7-9, 5-4 SCIAC) 17-10 on Thursday night at Farquhar Field.

Larson, who leads the SCIAC with 35 goals, scored an unassisted goal at the beginning of the second half to make it 6-5, and again with 18:59 on the clock, making it 10-9. After Redlands' Ellen Holt answered, Rebecca Belding (Burlingame) scored to bring Oxy back within one, 11-10, with 10:14 left in the game. But the Bulldogs rattled off six unanswered goals to end the game and keep Oxy from defeating them for the second time this season.

The Tigers beat Redlands 12-9 on Feb. 20 in the first meeting between the schools this year.

Beebe Finch Sanders (Berkeley) scored two goals, secured five draws and picked up four ground balls for the Tigers. Monica Rosenkranz (Menlo Park) had three ground balls and Belding earned six draw controls.

Aimee Dewan scored five goals and goalie Ana Martinez made nine saves to help Redlands extend its winning streak to six games in its regular season finale.

Over in Claremont, Pomona-Pitzer (9-7, 4-5 SCIAC) lost at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (8-9, 4-6 SCIAC), meaning the Tigers will finish with at least the fourth seed for the SCIAC Championships set to begin next week. Oxy can secure the No. 2 seed and a bye in the first round with a win over Chapman (12-4, 6-3 SCIAC) in its final regular season game at Jack Kemp Stadium at 1 p.m. on Saturday. If the Tigers win, they'll own the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Panthers and host one of the semifinal games on April 27 at 10 a.m. If they lose and Pomona-Pitzer wins at Whittier (3-12, 0-9 SCIAC) in its last game, the Sagehens will have the tiebreaker and Oxy will be the fourth seed and host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the first round on April 24 at 7 p.m.
