Box Score CLAREMONT — Elissa Minamishin did it again.
The senior forward finished a pass from Julie Khil in the 56th minute and the Occidental College women's soccer team blanked Pomona-Pitzer in a 1-0 road win on Saturday.
Minamishin, who scored two goals and had an assist in a 5-0 rout of Whittier on Sept. 18, now has four goals and two assists on the year.
Her recent offensive surge is an encouraging sign for the Tigers and a bad sign for the rest of the SCIAC. Last season she had just two goals and an assist all year, a down season by her standards considering she had 11 goals and two assists in 2011.
Khil, a freshman, is putting together quite a resume too, adding her first career assist to a stat line that already has two goals. She scored her first goal in her first collegiate game at San Diego Christian and had the game-winner in double overtime against Pacific Lutheran.
Oxy has scored 11 goals in five games as a team.
The Tigers improve to 3-1-1 overall and 2-0 in SCIAC play. They return to action on Sept. 25 at defending champion Cal Lutheran at 7 p.m.
