Box Score CLAREMONT — The Occidental College men's soccer team capped one of its best regular seasons in program history with an impressive 3-0 win at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Saturday.
Oxy, which clinched a spot in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament in its last match with a 10-0 win over Caltech, will be the No. 4 seed headed to Redlands on Wednesday for a rematch of last year's SCIAC Semifinal.
The Tigers came into Saturday needing La Verne or Chapman to tie or lose their final matches in order to move up to the No. 2 or No. 3 seed.
Liam Walsh and Valdair Martins-Lopes both scored first-half goals and Connor Freeman scored late in the second half.
Oxy finishes the season 13-3-3 overall and 10-3-3 in SCIAC play. The Tigers have outscored their opponents 54-9 this season.
More details about Oxy's playoff game will be released on Monday.
