Box Score LOS ANGELES — Sierra Slack and Alida Beck both scored two goals in the second half as the Tigers out-played Pomona-Pitzer for the last 30 minutes.
But a big deficit and slow start offensively was too much for Oxy to overcome in a 13-7 loss to the Sagehens at Jack Kemp Stadium on Saturday.
Oxy falls to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in SCIAC play. The Sagehens improve to 2-0 and 2-0.
The Tigers fell behind 9-0 at halftime as they struggled to get anything past Pomona-Pitzer goalkeeper Gabby Fukumura, who finished the game with 10 saves. In the second half, the Tigers outscored Pomona-Pitzer 7-4.
Beebe Finch Sanders, Mackenzie Wright and Rebecca Reese all scored one goal for Oxy.
Kristin Feinberg played well defensively for Oxy, causing four turnovers and grabbing four ground balls. Brita Loeb had four draw controls.
Aubrey Douglass led the Sagehens with three goals and four assists.
Next Game: Oxy is back in action on Feb. 25, hosting Redlands at 7 p.m. at Jack Kemp Stadium.
