Box Score CLAREMONT — Beebe Finch Sanders scored two goals and had an assist, and Mackenzie Wright and Sierra Slack each recorded a hat trick with three goals.
But the red-hot women's lacrosse team hit a bump in the road at Pomona-Pitzer on Wednesday, losing to the first-place Sagehens 10-9.
The Tigers, which had won seven of their last eight games coming into the contest, including a win over previous first-place Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in its last outing, fall to 7-5 overall and 3-4 in SCIAC play. The Sagehens improve to 9-3 and 6-1.
The game was tied 4-4 at halftime and neither team led by more than two goals in the game. The Sagehens separated themselves midway through the second half with consecutive goals by Hannah Christenson to go up 9-7.
Pomona-Pitzer earned 13 draws to Oxy's eight.
Rebecca Reese rounded out Oxy's scoring with a goal and Ciara Byrne had an assist.
Oxy goalie Adrienne Ruth made nine saves, Brita Loeb had four draw contols and Alessandra Quaroni had three caused turnovers.
Aubrey Douglass and Sallie Marx led Pomona-Pitzer with three goals each.
