Box Score LOS ANGELES — Katie O'Connor, Sierra Slack, and the Occidental lacrosse team scored a dominating win Thursday night, beating Albion College 17-8 at Jack Kemp Stadium.
O'Connor led the Tigers with five goals, Slack scored three goals to go along with three assists. Slack leads Oxy with nine assists on the season.
Madi Hallare and Rebecca Reese both scored a hat-trick.
After the Tigers started the game up 4-0, the Britons cut the Tigers lead in half on back-to-back goals by Cait Gaitley and Julie Wood.
But Oxy ended the final 13 minutes of the period on a 8-1 run to put the game away for good. O'Connor scored three of her goals during the stretch.
Ciara Byrne, Mackenzie Wright, and Kallyn Song-Nichols each got on the board with a goal. Wright leads the Tigers with 15 goals.
Wood led the way for Albion with four goals and Gaitley added three.
Season Impact: The Tigers improve to 2-4 overall and are undefeated in non-conference play. The Tigers are in a stretch of seven straight non-conference games.
Albion falls to 1-5.
Next Game: Oxy hosts Southwestern (Tex.) next Monday at 7 p.m.
