CLAREMONT — Kyla Houck scored three goals and had three assists, leading the Occidental women's water polo team to an 11-4 win over Penn St. Behrend at Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday.
The Tigers got off to a slow start, but went on a 4-0 run in the fourth quarter to cruise to victory.
Season Impact: Oxy improves to 2-5 on the season.
Zulema Iboa-Garcia and Carly Zurcher ead scored a pair of goals for Oxy. Amanda Akiyama, Claudia Oppermann and Sabrina Palmer each had one.
"We got off to a little bit of a slow start which is going to happen in the fourth game of the weekend, but the team did a great job grinding through the last three quarters to finish the weekend strong," Oxy head coach Chris Lee said.
Anna De Groot had a good game in the net, saving eight shots with one assist and three steals.
Next Game: The Tigers play their first home game of the season on Thursday against Pomona-Pitzer at 4 p.m.
