Box Score CLAREMONT — Mackenzie Wright scored four goals and had an assist.
But the Occidental women's lacrosse team lost its regular season finale 14-7 at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Saturday.
The Tigers fell behind 9-2 by halftime and couldn't recover despite playing the Athenas an even 5-5 in the second half.
Wright scored three of her goals in the second half.
Ciara Byrne scored a goal, grabbed four ground balls and had three draw controls for the Tigers. Brita Loeb added a goal, five ground balls, three draw controls and four caused turnovers.
Shai Goodman rounded out Oxy's scoring with a goal and an assist.
CMS was led by Katie Hill, who scored four goals and dished out a pair of assists.
Season Impact: The Tigers fall to 7-10 overall and 1-9 in SCIAC play.
CMS improves to 13-3 and 8-2.
Next Game: The Tigers will be on the road for the SCIAC Championship Tournament on Wednesday at Redlands as the No. 5 seed. Oxy wins the tiebreaker with Whittier on goals against in SCIAC play.
