Box Score LOS ANGELES — The Occidental women's soccer team tied Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 1-1 at Jack Kemp Stadium on Saturday night.
Catherine Leon scored the CMS goal in the 11th minute on a pass from Sarah Tocher.
The Tigers got to even in the 35th. Megan Maher headed a ball off the crossbar and then Ashley Rodarte knocked in the rebound from 8-yards out on the right side for her first career goal.
Oxy goalkeeper Sydney Tomlinson made a potentially game-saving save on a breakaway by Kira Favakeh in the second half. Favakeh broke through the right side, but Tomlinson charged out to cut off her angle and caught a hard shot right at her chest just before she made contact with Favakeh.
Favakeh also had a good right-footed shot at the goal in the first overtime period that was just over the bar.
There were some anxious seconds for the Athenas at the end of regulation on a free kick by the Tigers. Oxy's Robin Waymouth put the ball into a good spot on the box that bounced around as the clock ticked down from 10 seconds. CMS finally cleared the ball as the horn sounded, sending the game into overtime.
Waymouth had a good look at the net in the second overtime period, but missed her rolling shot wide right.
Season Impact: The Tigers and Athenas remain tied for fifth place at 14 points, trailing Whittier at 18 points, for the fourth and final SCIAC Postseason Tournament spot. With two games to go, Oxy's playoff chances are very much alive as long as Whittier does not win another game.

#2 Erin Iacullo, Biology major and forward from El Cerrito, CA.
