But despite cutting Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' lead to 10-8 early in the second half, the Tigers hit the wall shortly after, falling to the first-place Athenas 16-11 at Jack Kemp Stadium on Saturday.
The Tigers opened the second half with a pair of goals before CMS scored five in a row to take a 15-8 lead with 15:56 to play in the game.
Pelliccia did more than just score for Oxy, grabbing eight ground balls and securing six draw controls. The first year ranks in the top 10 in the SCIAC in goals, draw controls and ground balls.
Byrne and Shai Goodman each had a pair of assists and Marie Whitmore added an assist and four ground balls. Emma Barrow grabbed five ground balls.
CMS was led by Allie Hill, who scored five goals, and Lauren Clubb, who scored three goals and dished out six assists.
Season Impact: The Tigers fall to 8-2 overall and 2-2 in SCIAC play.
CMS improves to 7-1 overall and 5-0 in SCIAC.
