Tigers Can't Overcome Slow Start Against Panthers

ORANGE – The Occidental women's water polo team fell to SCIAC opponent Chapman 10-4 on Wednesday.

The Tigers played a good 2nd half, keeping even with the Panthers, but were unable to dig themselves out of a 6-0 hole from the first half.

The Panthers capitalized on 6-on-5 plays, scoring three goals off of them in the first half.

Hi'ipoi Lee, Carly Zurcher, Monica Chernoff and Zulema Iboa-Garcia each scored a goal for the Tigers, with Chernoff adding an assist.

Grace Schade led the Panthers with four goals. Emiko Mizusawa had a hat trick.

Occidental falls to 5-16 overall and 0-4 in conference. Chapman improves to 6-15 and 3-1 in conference. 

The Tigers play at home on Saturday against CMS at 11 AM.
