ORANGE -- The Occidental women's lacrosse team is headed to the SCIAC Playoffs.
Oxy opens the four-team tournament as the No. 3 seed and will travel to No. 2 Chapman on Saturday, April 29 at 7 p.m.
If the Tigers win, they will advance to the winner-take-all SCIAC Championship game against the winner of Redlands and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on May 6.
The Tigers didn't fare well against the Panthers in the regular season, dropping both games, but played them much more competitively the second time around, losing 14-9.
Oxy comes into the game with an overall record of 11-5 overall and 5-5 in SCIAC play.
The Tigers are led by firs year standout Alessandra Pelliccia and junior star Sierra Slack.
Pelliccia leads the SCIAC in goals (37), ground balls (40) and draw controls (45).
Slack isn't far behind her in the scoring column with 25 on the league season for the fourth best total in the league.
