Box Score LOS ANGELES — Dylan Wensley and Megan Maher both scored goals as the Occidental women's soccer team earned a good road victory at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 2-0 on Wednesday.
"This result and performance can see us build from here, get more healthy and further develop the self-belief that we can compete with anyone in this conference," Oxy head coach Colm McFeely said.
The Tigers improve their record to 3-3-1 overall and 1-3-1 in SCIAC play.
The Athenas fall to 2-5-1 and 1-3-1.
It was a 0-0 contest until Maher broke the tie with the game's first goal in the 49th minute.
Wensley scored her first career goal in the 88th minute on an assist from Nicole Castro to seal the victory for the Tigers.
It was a mostly evenly played game with Oxy taking 17 shots to CMS' 16.
Oxy is back in action on Sept. 30 at Chapman at 11 a.m.
