Oxy Stumbles Against Good Pomona Team

LOS ANGELES -- The Occidental women's water polo ran into a good Pomona-Pitzer team, falling 21-3 at Taylor Pool on Saturday.

Monica Chernoff led Oxy with a pair of goals, Hannah Pearson added one, and Hi'ipoi Lee and Mika O'Shea each had an assist. O'Shea also had nine saves and three steals in the cage. Lee and Claudia Oppermann each had three steals.

Natasha Rosenthal led the Sagehens with four goals.

Season Impact: Oxy falls to 3-19 overall and 2-11 in SCIAC play.

Pomona-Pitzer goes to 18-10 overall and 12-0 in SCIAC.

Next Game: Oxy is back in action on Wednesday against Whittier for its final game of the season.
