Oxy Ties at Redlands

REDLANDS — The Occidental women's soccer team tied at Redlands 1-1 on Wednesday. 

Isabella Bonomi, a first year from Palo Alto who already has two assists this season, scored her first career goal on assists from Rachel Kolpa and Nicole Castro.

Kolpa, a first year from Seattle, records her first assist. She scored two goals in a win over Knox and was named the SCIAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week already this season.

Castro, a senior from Mill Creek, Wash., earned her fourth career assist and first this season.

Mel Johnson evened the game a 1-1 with a goal for the Bulldogs in the 47th minute just after halftime. 

The teams remained tied for the duration of the contest. 

Season Impact: Oxy's record is now 2-0-2 and 1-0-2 in SCIAC.

Redlands is 1-2-1 overall and 0-0-1 in SCIAC.

Next Game: The Tigers are back in action on Saturday against Chapman at 7 p.m. at Jack Kemp Stadium.
