Box Score LOS ANGELES — The Occidental women's lacrosse team kept its winning streak alive, beating Chapman 20-9 at Jack Kemp Stadium on Wednesday.
The Tigers improve to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in SCIAC play.
Marie Whitmore, Oxy's leader in points so far this season, scored five of her game-high six goals in the first half as the Tigers went up 4-0 early and 12-5 by halftime.
Oxy put the game well out of reach with the first seven goals of the second half, going up 19-5 with 13:20 to play in the game.
Alessandra Pelliccia, the SCIAC's Defensive Player of the Week, and Isabella Litt were strong in the middle of the field on the draw and causing turnovers. Pelliccia finished with four goals, two assists, four ground balls, four draw controls and two caused turnovers. Litt had three goals, one assist and four draw controls.
Lauren Di Lella had four goals and an assist, Elizabeth Andrews had a goal and Annie Dolan had two goals, rounding out Oxy's scorers.
Katherine Drake, Emma Barrow and Corinne Bates led Oxy's defense as it held its opponent to single digits for the third time in four games.
Corinn Valeri and Emma Rivielle led Chapman with two goals each.
Oxy hasn't just been winning, but blowing people out. The Tigers had double-digit wins over Whittier and Cal Lutheran, and their closest game was a six-goal win over Bates.
Next Game: Oxy is back in action on Saturday playing at defending SCIAC Champion Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at 1 p.m.
