Pasadena, CA — The Occidental men's soccer team was hosted by the Caltech Beavers Wednesday night.  A pair of first half goals lifted Occidental to their 2-1 victory over Caltech.

The first goal of the game was scored 26 minutes into the first half by defender Christian Corcoran. The visiting Tigers got another goal less than 10 minutes later as forward Matthew Teplitz converted a penalty kick to give Oxy a 2-0 lead. Caltech's Veli Christodolou scored midway through the second half which brought the Beavers within striking distance, but Oxy's defense held on for the win. The Tigers offense was dominant as they had 10 shots on goal to Caltech's one. Goalkeeper Derek Ing played a major role in keeping the Beavers close as he made eight saves throughout the game.

Next Game: Oxy will head to La Verne Saturday night for the schools' first and only meeting of the season at 7:00 p.m.
